Tim Flannery, the current Australian of the Year, gave an excellent talk at King’s College in London last night. His latest book is called ‘The Weather Makers‘, so it was fitting that his presentation focused on climate change. My favourite quotes from his talk are:
“We’re not masters of the universe, but babies just beginning to learn how to be planetary engineers”
and
“The atmosphere is the great uniting organ of the planet”
Interestingly, he mentions pyrolysis as a potential method for storing carbon.
